For
most of my life, living in a tropical country, winter was the season
that I liked most. But, since I've been living here, and winter is
long, wet and dark, my preference has changed drastically.
Although I
still like the cold days, summer became my favorite time of the year.
The Canadian cities are happier and prettier in the summer. The long
sunny days makes us able to explore the outdoors in different ways:
hiking, swimming, camping, having pic-nic, fishing, horse riding,
boating, biking, kayaking, canoeing and many other options.
Not only
people stay up later on the streets, but also they flock to the
restaurant patios, outdoor pools, as well as lakes. In addition,
there are so many free things to do such as Outdoor Movie Nights,
Music Festivals, parades and carnivals. Kids love to play in the
water parks, which also are free and very funny. If you like to find
good deals, or just look around your neighborhood, there are plenty
of garage sales during this season.
Moreover, for those who like to
travel, this is the best time of the year for a road trip. On the
other hand, for those who like to relax, it's a perfect moment to
feel the sun on your back or just contemplate a starry
night while sipping a glass of wine.
But, hot days don't mean only a
possibility of different activities. It is also about a joyful
atmosphere and people celebrating life. It's to be in bare-feet, and
feel the grass. It's to glimpse a gorgeous butterfly. It's a profuse
sense of gratitude when our hearts and bodies are warm. Therefore, I
love summer, more now than ever.
